What's Next?
Apart from the Festival, which takes place annually during Pride Month, we also produce shows year-round that support the festival and spotlight LGBTQIA+ talent from across the Gulf Coast and beyond.
Selection Policy
In keeping with the tradition of LGBTLOL, the number of 2024 applicants accepted is based on the generosity of sponsor support. Unlike many festivals, every LGBTLOL performer is paid for their time and talent on stage. Our funds are generated from partner contributions, general fundraising, and applicant fees. This money pays performers, reinvests in the festival at-large, and supports local non-profit groups (like Covenant House New Orleans) that support LGBTQIA+ youth. While we wish we could accept every applicant, we can only accept those we can pay; which means the performer number is flexible year-to-year, depending on funds raised.
About
LGBTLOL Queer Comedy Fest was born during Pride Month 2022 in New Orleans – one of the great global cities that amplify LGBTQIA+ voices. The inaugural Festival was a single-day event at Comedy House Nola, packed with emerging local talent & sold out rooms. What started as a small showcase for queer entertainers is rapidly growing into a must-see, truly ubiquitous comedy festival on the national circuit.
